This is a miniature version of the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands, crafted around AD 1880. The Order was established on September 29, AD 1815, by King William I following his return to the Netherlands as monarch after the Napoleonic Wars. The creation of the Order aimed to encourage the country’s recovery from the devastation of war by recognising civilian professionals and individuals for their outstanding contributions in non-military fields.

The Order consists of three classes:

The medal’s overall design features a white enamel-painted Maltese cross, with each arm of the cross adorned by gold spheres at its tips. Between the arms of the cross are interwoven monograms of King William I, styled as “W.” The top of the medal is surmounted by a crown decorated with a small cross and gold spheres.

At the centre of the obverse side face is a circular medallion bearing the coat of arms of the Netherlands: a crowned lion wielding a sword in one paw and a bundle of arrows in the other, symbolising power and unity.

On the reverse side, the central medallion is painted with dark blue enamel and inscribed with the Latin phrase “VIRTUS NOBILITAT” (Virtue Ennobles) in gold letters.

這是一枚公元1880年之際打造的迷你版「荷蘭雄獅勳章」。荷蘭雄獅勳章創立於公元1815年9月29日，為拿破崙戰爭結束後歸國成為國王的威廉一世，為了鼓勵國家盡快從戰火的破壞中復新，創立面向非軍事專業和傑出貢獻的民事人才獎勵制度，勳章總計有三個等級：

獎章整體造型為一個白色琺瑯彩繪的馬爾他十字架，每一側的頂端皆以金球作為裝飾。十字架之間穿插著威廉一世的造型花押「W」，獎章頂端則是帶著十字架金球的王冠。獎章正面的中央圓盤是荷蘭國徽，一隻頭戴王冠，一手持劍一手持箭頭的雄獅，象徵力量和團結。背面正中央的圓盤以深藍色琺瑯為彩繪，並且寫上金色的拉丁文「VIRTUS NOBILI TAT」(高貴的美德)。
