This is a U.S. one-cent coin minted between AD 1859 and AD 1909, known as the “Indian Head” cent. The Indian Head design was introduced to replace the earlier “Flying Eagle” cent, and it remained in production until AD 1909, when it was succeeded by the “Lincoln” cent.

The obverse of the coin was crafted by James Barton Longacre, Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. It features a left-facing portrait of a goddess adorned with a pearl necklace and an eagle-feather headdress, inscribed with the word “LIBERTY” on the headband. Surrounding the portrait are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” while the production year “1907” is inscribed at the bottom.

The reverse side depicts a laurel wreath tied with a bow, topped by a shield inspired by the design of the American flag, with the denomination “ONE CENT” prominently displayed in the centre.
