According to auction information, this is a set of three circular silver ingots minted by the Kingdom of Lan Xang between the 14th and 18th centuries. The ingots are round; the first has a dish-like appearance, while the middle ingot is unique, featuring an openwork design.
The Kingdom of Lan Xang was the first unified dynasty in the history of Laos, encompassing the entirety of present-day Laos, northern Thailand, and parts of Yunnan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar. In Lao, “Lan Xang” translates to “The Land of a Million Elephants.”
