This is a denarius coin minted by the Roman Republic in 91 BC, by the moneyer Decimus Junius Silanus.

The obverse of the coin features a profile portrait of a Roman, wearing a helmet, with a mint mark “B” below the portrait. The reverse depicts a Roman quadriga (four-horse chariot) and a warrior holding the reins. Below the chariot is the Latin inscription “ROMA D·SILANVS·L·F,” meaning “Roma, Decimus Silanus, son of Lucius.”

Denarius:
The denarius was a small silver coin introduced by ancient Rome around 211 BC and was one of the most common currencies in circulation until it was gradually replaced by the Antoninianus in the mid-3rd century during the Roman Empire.
