This coin is a ten-cash Republic of China error mint coin which was issued in AD 1920. Following the victory of the AD 1911 Revolution, the Qing Emperor abdicated, leading to the establishment of the Republic of China. In the early years of the Republic, republic coins were minted to replace the copper coins of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, the interim president, Sun Yat-sen, proposed a new coin design featuring the motif of “depicting a model of five grains in the centre, symbolizing the abundance of harvests and encouraging agricultural development.” Subsequently, many provinces participated in the minting and issuance of new coins, with the dual flags being a common design pattern on these coins.

The obverse of this coin depicts a crossed arrangement of the Eighteen-Star Flag and the Five-Colored Flag, intertwined with a decorative ribbon. Above, there is an image of a chrysanthemum, and the upper circumference of the circular frame is inscribed with “Republic of China,” while the lower edge bears the inscription “Ten Cash.” On either side, there are cast designs of branching flowers and leaves. The reverse side within the circular frame features a depiction of five spikes and four leaves, symbolizing a bountiful harvest. The outer circumference is adorned with the inscriptions “THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA,” “TEN CASH,” and two circular dots. Both faces exhibit inner serrations and outer borders, with a smooth coin edge.

公元1911年辛亥革命勝利後，清帝退位，中華民國成立。民國建立之初，鼓鑄紀念幣以取代清代銅元，當時臨時大總統孫中山提出新幣花紋「中間應繪五穀模型，取豐歲足民之義，垂勸農務本之規」，而後許多省份參與新幣鑄發，其中雙旗亦為常見幣面設計圖案。此幣鑄行時間為公元1920年，有幾種不同版本，本幣為幣胚缺料。

此幣幣面是十八星旗和五色旗雙旗交叉，繫有結帶，上有菊花圖案，圓框外上緣環鑄「中華民國」，下緣為「當十銅元」，兩側鑄有折枝花葉，錢背圓框內為五穗四葉圖案，寓意嘉禾，框外環繞「THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA 」、「TEN CASH」及兩個圓點，雙面皆具內齒及外廓，幣邊光滑。
